Sweden – a society of individuals.
This is something we’re proud of, but it’s not all rainbows and ponies. Our individualism has made us the loneliest people in the world.
40% of all adults in Sweden consider themselves to be lonely, even though they live in a city filled with people. We get around Stockholm by crowded buses or have to squeeze ourselves onto the trains on our way to work. We don’t talk, oh god no, we won’t even look at someone we don’t know. The Swedish fear of awkwardness keeps us from interacting with each other, even though almost half of us is feeling lonely. In a city filled with people.
This is a problem that keeps on growing and it’s time to do something about it. Iris is a bracelet that are suppose to work as an conversation starter. You wear the bracelets a statement – You are revolting against loneliness. Wearing the bracelet doesn’t mean you’re lonely, you are just openminded when it comes to other people contacting you. It’s totally fine to sit next to you on the subway, say hello or share a table at the coffeeshop – and if you’re both wearing the bracelet, you even get a coffee for free. Sweden isn’t just the loneliest country in the world, we’re also the most caffein loving. So let’s cure the loneliness and sooth our caffein addiction at the same time! Cause no one want’s to drink their coffee alone, right?
